01Who we are

Droplert is a price tracking app for Android, made by InovA, the trading name of Shahzaman, an independent developer based in Islamabad, Pakistan ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Droplert app and the website at droplert.app. For data protection law purposes, Shahzaman, trading as InovA, is the controller of the data described here.

The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. As with any website, our host (Vercel) processes your IP address to deliver the pages, and the YouTube video on the home page loads from YouTube only if you press play.

Questions about privacy go to support@droplert.app. A real person reads it.

02What stays on your device

Everything you put into Droplert is stored in a private database on your phone. That includes:

  • the product links you add, product names and images, and the price you tapped;
  • every price check result (the price history), alert history, target prices and check intervals;
  • your settings: theme, accent colour, currency, alert threshold, quiet hours.

We don't run a server that stores this, and we can't see your watchlist.

Backups

  • Android backup. If backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include Droplert's database and settings in your Google account backup, so they come back on a new phone. Google provides and encrypts this backup, and you control it in Android settings.
  • Manual backup. If you use Backup & restore, Droplert writes a backup file to the location you choose. That file is yours, so keep it somewhere safe.

Uninstalling Droplert deletes its data from your phone, but not from backups you made.

03What our service providers receive

Droplert uses a few third-party services to understand usage, fix problems, show ads in the free version and handle purchases. They receive the data below and process it under their own privacy policies.

ServiceWhat it receivesWhy
Google Firebase AnalyticsAn app-instance ID, device model, Android and app version, language and approximate country (from your IP address), and app events: products added or removed, price checks that succeed or fail (with the store's domain, such as amazon.com, and the old and new price), screens such as the upgrade page, purchases and their plan, opening a store link, and the store you installed from. It does not receive product links or product names.To see which features are used and which stores fail, so we fix the right things.
Google Firebase CrashlyticsCrash reports: the error, device model, Android and app version and an installation ID. For failed price checks: the store's domain, HTTP status and the browser error text.To find and fix crashes and broken stores.
Google Firebase Remote ConfigAn app-instance ID and app version.To adjust app settings without a new release.
Google AdMob (free version only)Your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Ads may be personalised based on this data.To show the small ads that keep Droplert free. Upgrading removes ads.
Google Play BillingYour purchase. Google handles payment, and we never see your card details.To sell upgrades.
RevenueCatYour purchase and subscription status, linked to a Droplert ID created from your phone's Android ID (shown in Settings → About), plus device and app version.To check what you've bought and restore it.
Google Play in-app review and updatesHandled by Google Play on your phone.To let you rate the app and install updates.

Privacy policies: Google (Firebase, AdMob, Play), Firebase privacy & security, RevenueCat. For how Google uses data from apps that use its services, see this page.

04Websites you track

To check a price, Droplert opens the product page in a browser view on your phone, just as if you visited it yourself, and reads the price you tapped. Product images are loaded straight from the store's servers. This means:

  • the store sees a normal visit from your phone, including your IP address, and may set cookies, as any website does;
  • what the store does with that visit is covered by the store's own privacy policy, not ours;
  • the page content stays on your phone. Only the price result is saved.

When you paste a link or share one to Droplert, the app reads that link. It only reads your clipboard when you tap Paste.

05Ads and your consent

The free version of Droplert shows small native ads, plus optional reward ads that you choose to watch. They're served by Google AdMob. Upgrading removes all ads.

  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Droplert shows Google's consent form the first time you open the app. Ads are personalised only if you agree. Otherwise you see non-personalised ads.
  • You can change your choice any time in Droplert under Settings → Privacy choices.
  • Everywhere else, you can limit ad personalisation by deleting or resetting your advertising ID in Android settings.

We don't control the content of individual ads, and ads never see your watchlist.

06When you email us

If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. Some buttons in the app start an email for you:

  • Send feedback and restore help pre-fill your phone model and Android version.
  • Send crash report attaches a technical report: device details, the error and recent app logs. Logs may include web addresses of products you track. You see the full email before sending, and nothing is sent unless you press send.

We use your messages only to reply and to fix the problems you report. Our support inbox is hosted with Google (Gmail). Mail arrives through Porkbun's forwarding and our replies are sent through Brevo.

09How long data is kept

  • On your phone: until you delete it in the app or uninstall Droplert.
  • Firebase Analytics: event data is kept for up to 14 months.
  • Crashlytics: crash reports are kept for 90 days.
  • AdMob and RevenueCat: as described in their own privacy policies. Purchase records are kept as long as needed for your purchases and for tax and accounting rules.
  • Support emails: as long as needed to help you, then deleted within 24 months.

10Your choices and rights

  • Delete your data from the app: remove products, clear history, or uninstall Droplert.
  • Limit ad personalisation: in Android, go to Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads) to delete or reset your advertising ID. Upgrading removes ads entirely.
  • Turn off alerts: notification settings for Droplert are in Android settings.
  • Access, correction, deletion and objection: depending on where you live, you can ask for these. We don't know who you are, so we usually can't find data about a specific person. Email us with your Droplert ID (Settings → About), and we'll ask our providers to find and delete data linked to it.
  • California residents: we don't sell personal information for money. Showing personalised ads through AdMob may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law. You can opt out by deleting your advertising ID as described above, or by emailing us.
  • Complaints: you can contact your local data protection authority, but please talk to us first so we can try to fix it.

We answer requests within 30 days.

11Children

Droplert isn't made for children and isn't directed at anyone under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.

12Security and international transfers

Your watchlist is protected by your phone's own security. Use a screen lock and keep Android updated. Data sent to our providers is encrypted in transit. Google and RevenueCat may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

13Changes and contact

If we change how Droplert handles data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. For important changes, we'll also tell you in the app before they take effect.
